The phrase "Beauty will save the world" is extrapolated from
The Idiot, a relatively famous book by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. In it the
gentle, innocent and kind hearted Prince Myshkin is often viewed as an idiot
because he loves with almost no guile or pretense and he holds to such seemingly naive beliefs.
Dostoevsky's unshakable belief that God Is Beauty and the source of all beauty plays heavily into his creation of Prince Myshkin, the "perfectly beautiful man".
Farmer Fred's eureka moment came when these two ideas combined: Beauty Will Save the World AND God is Beauty. It seemed like the perfect theme to accompany his busking activities where he freely distributes beautiful little prayer helpers in the form of our home grown Visio Divina Cards and Lynn Garlick's Beautiful Retablos.
El Ranchero Federico (Farmer Fred's alter ego) has a little bit different approach to the ancient art of street performance or 'busking'. He is there simply to bless you with a little musical joy and beautiful art and like everything grown at Photon Farms, it is always free and never for sale. The little mediation and prayer helpers are free for the taking at every performance.

| El Ranchero Federico isn't busking to make money. |
Even though everything on the farm is always free and never for sale, people still sometimes feel so blessed that they want to give something in return despite the "Please, No tipping" sign being on display. We won't refuse any gifts to Photon Farms which is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, but please understand, that isn't why we are busking. It is just for the joy it!

[Per the direction of our Board of Trustees, donation buttons are at the bottom of every page on this site. If you like what we're growing and sharing on the farm, feel free to pay it forward in that way. Donations are tax deductible if you live in the United States and maybe a couple other places like Mexico or Canada. See our open book financials here.]
Many books, movies, sermons, lectures, poems, songs, works of art and life experiences have cultivated the soil that led to this venture of expressing beauty freely to others. For example, Pontifex University, David Clayton's Substack, and several courses at the Theology of the Body Institute have all imbued a sense of wonder and beauty into the old farmer and for that we are extremely grateful.
Remember, all produce on the farm is freely given
and never for sale. All donations to the farm
are tax deductible as we are a registered 501(c)(3).
If you've been blessed by our produce and would
love to make sure others get blessed too,
use the 'Donate' button below to pay it forward.
